Hello!
I’m Jackie, the creator of Evergreen Botanical Studio.
Evergreen has grown from the soil of my own life and love story, evolving into a joyous endeavor to help people re-live their most cherished life moments through the medium of flower preservation art.
My love of nature and art has been woven into the fabric of my being since the day I was born. Exploring the Adirondacks with my dad and grandpa, absorbing their lessons on various plant and animal life, to cultivating gardens with my mom and grandmother, learning the art of nurturing, and caring for all aspects of the natural world. Every experience shaped my artistic journey.
Motivated by a desire to preserve the beauty flourishing in my own backyard, I turned to replicating it through drawing, watercolor, and acrylic painting from a very young age. My artistic skills became a way for me to craft meaningful pieces for the special people in my life, bringing immense joy in creating art with them in mind.
This practice persisted alongside my journey through art school in New York City and my 14-year career in the fashion industry as a designer.
In 2021 I started dabbling in flower preservation as a hobby with flowers from gifted bouquets and from my own flower garden. I started by using the pressing technique, but quickly found that I missed the true form and color of the original flowers. This led me to explore true form preservation and to eventually combine many techniques to create a new unique design style. It has been a labor of love, but I am absolutely in love with what I have created, and I am so excited to share it with others.
My husband volunteered to be my frame maker, turning the dream of a marriage infused with shared artistic endeavors, into reality. Discovering a gap in the market for shadow box frames that would accommodate most full-sized flowers, he set to work designing frames with the perfect depth to allow the flowers to maintain their original bloom size. In essence, your artwork is crafted with love, quite literally.
Word of my art quickly spread among friends and family. Their encouragement, coupled with my husband's unwavering support, propelled me to start this small family run business. The unexpected outpouring of love and support took me by surprise.
The realization that I could create art from one of life's most meaningful symbols became the catalyst for this journey into deeply gratifying work. I began taking on projects like preserving bridal flowers and birthday bouquets and it has only expanded from there.
The union of my love for nature and art, interwoven with profound meaning, was the missing piece of the puzzle. I am profoundly grateful to do work that I love.
People and their stories hold a sacred place in my heart. Transforming flowers that symbolize special occasions into memorable keepsakes is an honor. Delving into a couple's love story, celebrating a significant birthday, remembering a cherished person or beloved pet—capturing the essence of these moments in a beautiful piece of artwork is incredibly fulfilling.
I am so excited to create with you and your story in mind.
